Johnny Byrd
U.S. Marine Corps
Johnny Byrd is a former field artilleryman in the United States Marine Corps and holds his time in the Corps close to his heart. He had the honor of serving alongside true heroes and remains forever grateful for those experiences. He deployed with Echo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines (Echo 2/10) on the 31st MEU in 2003 and completed another deployment to the Middle East in 2004. He was later attached to the 10th Marine Regiment.
He began his tattooing career in 2008, completing his apprenticeship at Lucky Dice Tattoo in Spartanburg, South Carolina. His passion for art extends well beyond tattooing—when he's not working, he’s painting or sketching, constantly exploring new ways to express his creativity.
The opportunity to work alongside other talented veteran artists has pushed him out of his comfort zone and inspired him to create some truly impactful work. He describes the experience as deeply humbling and is proud to share the artwork he and his fellow veterans have created for others to enjoy.
