It's a quote from the move Apocalypse Now that lends to the thought: when you're gone, all you think about is home, but when you're home, all you think about is being gone.
You may find yourself floating in the middle, caught between all the different versions of yourself and experiences. Searching for the solid ground or a new place to stand.
Whether you're the creator or the receiver, art is that solid ground for many veterans, service members and their families.
The pieces I painted for this project are a mix of traditionally inspired sticker flash and larger pieces that I hope others can connect with. Many designs have been left with areas that can be personalized or easily adjusted for your own spin.
